SoCal...

There is something amazing about traveling to a different culture and experiencing culture shock. In our two month journey, my first culture shock event occurred while in the land of my youth...Southern California. I spent my entire life, with the exception of the last nine years, in and around the greater Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley. You would think that coming back to the area wouldn't be that big of deal. In many ways no, but there are some things that I do shake my head at.

1. I don't know if this is a national campaign, but I was shocked and suddenly hungary...all for just $9.99

2. Cake pops?

3. Here's one for you...also tied into the Golden Arches.

If you can't see it, it is a 15 minute Core workout DVD provided to you by McDonald's.

Cultural change is all around us and in fact an amazing thing. It gives us the beauty and uniqueness we all enjoy, and sometimes it makes us scratch our heads.

And here is a picture for your viewing pleasure.

I'm such a proud father...chip of the old block.

  1. I saw cake pops taking over at all the Starbucks and Tullys in Bellevue recently. They came out of nowhere. I smell conspiracy.

  2. This picture of your son is priceless! Do you always make him wear a helmet when he does that? How far is he going up there??
